WHAT IS SONGSTER CATALOGUE?

Songster Catalogue is a service/tool for songwriters who need a little help in the organizational department when it comes to all things songwriting related. It was designed by a songwriter for other songwriters.
ABOUT THE CREATOR OF SONGSTER CATALOGUE: Ever since I moved to Nashville 2 years ago, my catalogue has grown quite rapidly. It came to a point where I was writing and writing and I didn't know WHAT I was writing about anymore. I had accumulated so many songs and it became a little overwhelming to keep track of! Sound familiar? Eventually, I had to do something about it, so I buckled down, and I got organized! Ever since overhauling my music catalogue organization, I’ve had many co-writers come up and ask me if I could help organize their personal music catalogues as well! So with a little encouragement from a friend, I’ve decided to make the tools that I use everyday easily accessible to other songwriters and help get them to a place where they feel confident in their catalogue organization skills. Whether you're an independent artist, songwriter or even have a publishing deal under your belt, I personally believe that each songwriter should do their part in being fully aware of the important information pertaining to each song they write. You don't think about how much information is required to get a song cut until after the fact. Unfortunately, writing the song isn't enough. After assisting an independent publisher with her music catalogue, I came to realize the importance of why it's so crucial to dot your i's and cross your t's when it comes to this kind of stuff. The time that could have been saved and the money that could have been earned, if only the information was documented properly from the beginning... *sigh* As songwriters, I believe our job is to not only write killer songs but to also be on top of how we look professionally. A sloppy and disorganized music catalogue with missing information can send the wrong impression, causing you to miss out on a good opportunity in the right situation. To be ready the moment a publisher or song plugger asks you, "Hey, what do you have that's Carrie Underwood style? or Slow tempo and Brett Eldridge's style?" says a lot about how seriously you take this music business. As aspiring and/or established songwriters and artists, life is so unpredictable and sometimes out of your control. But being in control and making sure on your end that information is documented properly, could save you a lot of time in the future and maybe prepare you for opportunities at the last minute.
